Your indictment assumes facts not necessarily in the record, and vastly oversimplifies a very complicated matter.

Fact is, you and I could go 12 full rounds and then some on the topic, but I ain't got the time, and my focus is on the present and the future.

You may be "over it" but I'm not and neither is the country. Are you trying to act like the last 8 years didn't happen?

You're acting like the kid who kills his parents and then asks for mercy from the sentencing judge because he's an orphan.

People need to be reminded of the failure of republican conservative governance over-and-over again.

a1 -- I'm over it. If you want to talk about the history of the GOP, go do it over there. Everyone who can read knows where you stand and what your opinion is.

Hey Joanne,

Your party defined itself by its actions of the last 30 years and the consequent disastrous results they left behind every time they have been in power. And they are further defined by their leadership today: Bush, Limbaugh, Palin, Beck, Gnigrich, McCain, etc. The only reason that you may be tiring of the "social/mores positioning of a party as the predominant banner" is because it isn't working as well anymore.

Wake up. Your party isn't being defined wrongly by anybody. Everybody can see what a failure it has been when it has been allowed to govern.

YES!!! I've been tossed a lifeline. Thanks for coming back as a re-defined Dave of reflection and deliberation--hopefully with strategic results of "righting" this ship. I am sick and tired of Republicanism being defined as social/mores positioning of a party as the predominant banner of the message. More disappointing, is our VERY OWN have held that banner, just as high to the cheers of a few, and the delight of every anti-Republican watching the party self-destruct. Talk about eating your own. I don't want people "whispering" to me, "I'm really a Republican", because they know I am one, and understand the pariah our brand brings now. I have no choice--I'm outed--former Republican candidate for office. Consider it a tattoo. But before those days...who knew? She was just a gal who did things because it was the responsible, humanistic thing to do. Not unlike the great Independents, Libertarians, Democrats, and fellow Republicans I have come to meet who later self-identified. So, change parties? Why bother. But I will make darn sure I will change out the people who are wrongly defining my party at this critical time in history--and that ticket can split a hundred ways on election day--but it is my responsibility to see it is thwarted at the primary level. Welcome back Dave, thanks for the fresh air, and the new set of "specs" you'll be keeping on the GOP.

Wow, and here I just thought I sucked as a Republican (couldn't seem to agree on more and more issues) but wasn't ready to completely jump sides in registration. After you left delawarepolitics.net , I kept reading... and slowly became more unsure if I was a Republican. I felt like the "floater" ... not willing to endorse every social program/entitlement as a fix but also not ready to condemn gays to hell and damnation. I don't expect to agree with all issues on either side ... but I am not feeling a worthiness to either side's application. Good to see you back!
